Care for Rosacea or "Red Skin"

People with rosacea suffer from inflamed skin on their faces. Rosacea causes redness, blotchiness, and blushing. It also causes small red bumps filled with pus which are similar to the pimples caused by acne.

To even your skin tone and control rosacea, we recommend the Obagi Rosaclear System. This system features a gentle cleanser, a topical gel that reduces the inflammation and bumps, and a moisturizer that helps reduce redness and protect your skin. We also recommend Obagi sun protection for our patients with rosacea.

SilkPeel microdermabrasion is also safe and effective for people with rosacea.

Facial redness and flaky skin — particularly around the nose, eyebrows, and hairline — is often caused by seborrheic dermatitis. To treat this condition, we recommend DermaZinc cream. Seborrheic dermatitis is known as dandruff when it affects the scalp. We recommend DermaZinc shampoo to relieve the dry skin and itching caused by dandruff.
